    Description

    C. Lang Neil’s The Modern Conjurer :: 1922
    This is a classic that many consider to be one of the best of the early books on magic. It mostly concentrates on magic using sleight-of-hand but also teaches the many classics of magic like: the linking rings, billiard ball manipulation, tons of card and coin routines, a large section on parlor tricks and chapters on performance art like, Shadowgraphy, the Troublewit, Plate Spinning and much more.
    Contributors to the book include: J.N. Maskelyne, Trewery, Charles Bertram, T. Nelson Downs, Mdlle. Patrice, Paul Valadon, H. Demanche, L. Graham Lewis, Frank Kennard, Ellis Stanyon and others.
    Third edition. Published by C. Arthur Pearson Ltd. in 1922 (first edition-1903). 390-pages with many photographs, 6 x 8.75 inches, hard-cover. Pre-owned but in good condition for its age. Paper has yellowed from age and the cover has minor bends.
