THE MAGIC OF HASKELL (Inscribed)Softcover, Copyright 1962 , 31 Pages , Long out of Print
This is a look at Haskell's magic, illusions, tricks and methods. B&W illustrations. Haskell used relatively few props--cards, a card sword, a plate of lemons (I forget now whether it was a dollar bill or a card in the lemon). These days people are writing books on how to have big impact in a magic show with limited props -- Bob was decades ahead of his time on that. Bob wore a white dinner jacket and his lovely wife looked stunning. The magic was very good, and he had a way with the spectators that resulted in lots of laughs and camaraderie.
NOTE:
Book belonged to Dr. Harlan Taylor; Dr. Taylor especially liked card magic and had a large library of card magic books. unfortunately he used it as a working library and most of his books had underlining as well as his bookplate on the pages (see photo #4) 3 pages have this bookmark.
Inscribed:
“To Dr. Harlan H. Taylor,
Hoping you can find some useful material in this little offering.”
Sincerely,
Bob Haskell
